SWENext is a chapter of the larger collegiate Society of Women Engineers (SWE): the world's largest advocate for women in STEM. Our aim is to inspire young girls to achieve their full potentials in their future careers as engineers and leaders and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion in STEM professions.

WOMEN IN COMPUTER SCIENCE POSTER CHALLENGE

We're not only celebrating 2021, but centuries of women's contributions to programming. Girls in 3rd-12th grade can make a poster detailing a woman in computer science. Who will you choose?

DESIGN YOUR OWN COMPUTER CHALLENGE

New year. New tech. Girls in 3rd-12th grade can design their own computer from household materials of their choice. Showcase your creative side by adding artistic and innovative features!

GO-GO GOLDBERG CHALLENGE - CLOSED

Girls 6-13 have the chance to compete for a STEM prize while being creative innovators. Girls will research Rube Goldberg machines and make one of their own to achieve a simple task. Click the "more information" button to get more information and register.

NEW ORLEANS CHALLENGE - CLOSED

Girls 6-13 will have the chance to win a fantastic STEM prize! This is a great opportunity for girls to explore their STEM interests through at-home, New Orleans-themed activities. Girls 6-9 will build an environmentally friendly Mardi Gras Float from household materials of their choice. Girls 10-13 will build a house that can withstand flooding from water.
